[Page 94]
Papa intends to take Eliza as a companion
and she would not be able to contain herself
from delight if she only thought you would
let her settle this house before Fanny went
up. What do you say about the 19th of
next month will that do for you? Will
you be ready? I shall be very glad for your
sake when it is all over for I am sure
you must be [indecipherable] this long winter[?]
but I shall miss Fanny very much [indecipherable]
we all will, Kirkham will not seem the
same place without her.
If you can come down on Monday as
Papa says you will have almost a fortnight
with us so we can have long chats by the
fire as in bye gone days when Kate was
with us, there is no hope of being here
[page 2 - sideways]
at your wedding at this time I thought she
might perhaps get up but now there is no chance.
Mother's arm is much better the splints are not off
but it is not so painful to move, her health
is very good. She seldom has a head ache and
excellent spirits out walking all day on Tuesday
and one or two nights she played chess with Papa
she makes us all laugh to see her so nervous about
the right move or [indecipherable] then loses her man[?]
Harriet has gone with Papa it will be a long
ride for her but she wishes to see Aunt Martha
who is at Mrs Cox's wth the children for changes
of air you know they have had this rasping[?] cough
