Dear Brother,

Your kind favour which certainly needed no apology
came duly to hand 12 July and this being our vacation time
it is with no small degree of pleasure I make an attempt to answer
trusting your aparent goodness and friendship will
cover my errors and accept my earnest wishes, my heart
felt prayers for your future & eternal welfare.

However different my views of religious doctrines may
be from that of many round me or however others may
differ from me in church government etc I most sincerely
trust that I love all that love our Lord Jesus Christ
in sincerity especially those who I trust go forth in the spirit of meekness &
love to share his everlasting Gospel - hence arises
my thankfulnes for my Sisters happiness - were I to say
no uneasy apprehensions darted across my mind when I
first heard it hinted to whom she was to be united: it would be wrong but that confi-
dence I have ever been enabled to place in my dear
Sister enabled me soon to banish these fears and the subse-
quent letters have tended to set my mind quite at ease
upon the subject May you and I my dear Sir yet
be enabled to assess the honors of Emanuels name and
preach Christ & him Crucified as the door the way the
