The importance of the work of a Minister
of the Gospel in every shape has & does lie heavy upon my mind
at times I am ready to draw back & with one of old to say
"I am of slow speech & of a slow tongue etc" and thus to argue altho as
far as I am capable of judging I trust my call is clear and that it is
my duty to go forward - Bear me then on the wings of your
supplication that "I may be directed by God the Holy Spirit in all my ways" & prayed

of Party Spirits were pulled down tho I fear such happiness will
scarcely be seen in our days -- & your objections to the
Church of England has often been duly weighed at the same time
they have been generally and counterbalanced by others which appear to me of equal importance. With regard
to my learned clerical friends I feel happy to inform you
that a Kind & gracious Father has so directed my steps hith
therto that my general acquintance amongst the lies prin-

reformed Evangelical or Methodistical and blessed be God
