Darriwill Sept 5/57

My dearest James

The time is slipping away since you left us, and we only received the few lines from you that were written at Liverpool. I am sure you must have written and the letter lost, so I send a line just to let you know we are very anxious to hear of you and yours.
We care very little who you write to, either Kate or Myself so that we get a letter,  We have never heard a word of poor Aunt Mary, Marion and Harriet have both written but they say Eliza will tell you about Aunt.
We have never receibed her letter
