Very dear Brother

Yours dated Calcutta
July 27th came safe to hand and as an
opertunity [opportunity] offers per Lieutn Lord who
is returning to England I very happily
embrace it - not only to acknowledge
yours but to express my thankful-
ness to God for his superabounding 
mercy to one of my dearest friends.
I feel very much Intrested [interested] in you[r]
happy Restoration to the injoyment [enjoyment]
of the Grace of God which passes
knowledge.   May Our dear Saviour
keep you through the rugged paths of time by his own strength too
everlasting salvation.
