            Yours dated Calcutta July 27th came safe to hand and as an opertunity [opportunity] offers per Lieutn Lord who is returning to England I very happily embrace it - not only to acknowledge yours but to express my thankfulness to God for his superabounding mercy to one of my dearest friends. I feel very much intrested [interested] in your happy Restoration to the injoyment [enjoyment] of the Grace of God which passes knowledge.   May Our dear Saviour keep you [through the rugged paths of time] [inserted] by his own strength too everlasting salvation.
