Saturday April 8th 1826

My dear Thomas

From the circumstance of forgeting the
day I missed the Messenger who takes the
dispatches to Bathurst but I wrote the preceeding
Wednesday which letter I hope you will receive
on Tuesday perhaps in the event of its not reaching
you I had better repeat, that I saw the ArchD
who has promised to inform me next week (I
suppose on Friday or Saturday had he will not
receive an answer from Mr Middleton before
then) whether we are to go to New-Castle or
Bathurst. I was sorry to hear to-day that the
ArchD said "He should not be in the Colony"
only one visitation more he was determined
to leave (perhaps you had better keep this pri
vate). I hope we shall be settled before then
If we should go to New Castle: all say, keep it
as it will be a place of great importance
from the Australian Company having Mined
the Coal Mines there for 31 years, and opening
a communication with Liverpool Plains if we
