Both Men are very contemptible and well
known in the Colony - Howe is nearly gone to
pieces and I think cannot get over his
embarrassments - he is in Debt with every Trader
that will trust him - My friend Scott was also
strangely deceived in this man, and thought me
prejudiced - He is a bad Father - a bad neighbour
a bad master - and notoriously dishonest -
To crown all, he is an impudent pretender
and utterly ignorant of agriculture, - What
will friend Scott say to all this - Nobody
doubts it here - I always knew it, and told Scott
so - how every one knows it and talks of it -

What can have become of the Guildford
with our Judge and the Anna with your
Letters - if they arrive not within another
week I shall be alarmed for their safety
