went to enquire about the last departure from
thence to Sydney, and was informed it was a Vessel
'with Emigrants for Major Macarthur' –

After a day or two in London I set off for
Cholmondeley Castle, having left a Letter for James
telling him where he was to put up. I had been
five days in Cheshire, when I had the pleasure to
receive a few Lines from James to announce his
safe arrival, and on returning to Town caught
him in his fast sleep, shortly after day break in
the morning. I knew precisely where to find him
and thus caught him, before he could have been
prepared, one momentary embrace telling more
