James will have told you how tremendous a
Hurricane he escaped. The morning I reached
London 27th Novr it blew such a Hurricane,
that the Towers of the Abbey, they say, rocked,
but so preoccupied was I in talking to James
that I only now remember it was rather a bad
sort of Day. Certainly we have had most
deplorable weather, such a succession of Gales
has not occurred within the Memory of Man
I hope dear Mrs. Lucas may be better thank her for
her very kind Letter home. And now, dearest Mother,
praying that the Intelligence which this Letter
brings may excuse its brevity, I will with love to
the Sisters three, and dear William subscribe myself
