15 Cockspur St 14th February 1838

My dear Brother,

Both James and myself have
written to you by the "John", and perhaps even this
Letter may be in time for Her, altho' the East
Wind which on other account is very incommoding
is now most favorable to Her, and She may
be gone; but even in that Case my Letter will
fo for the following Mail.

I had yesterday a visit from
Sir Maurice OConnell, whom our dear Mother
will remember in the 73rd. Regiment. He is ap=
-pointed a Major General on the Stsff in New So Wales,
and will proceed thither in June, with his Family –
