London 28th. October 1843

My dear Sir,

Your obliging note was put into my hands
just as I got into the Pulpit, and as you are unavoidably
absent, it affords me particular satisfaction to send you
enclosed such part of the catalogue as contains the lots
of your J.Mc.A. Flocks in the sale last evening as well as the
corresponding half sheet shewing the contents of the lots, with
the prices of these that were offered for sale in the sale of
26th. June last. The sales comprise 18,000 Bales, the attendance
is very large, the competition is very animated, the prices
from the commencement have been good, and have
certainly gone on increasing.

The superior Flock of the A.A. Company
were sold on the 24th. Inst. upon which I opbtained an
advance of ⅛ of a penny, and upon the Second best
flock of 2d¼ pr lb. the advance however upon your own
flock has far exceeded all that has been done. The
sales will not finish until this day week, should
you not have returned (if I hear nothing to the contrary)
I will send priced catalogues to your Brothers in Sydney as
from you thro' Messrs. Buckle and Co.

From the Clerk of those gentlemen I have received
the enclosed note in answer to the enquiry made by your desire
about your Policy of Insurance – with much respect I remain
Dear Sir

Your obliged Servant
(signed) J.T. Simes

P.S. I will take care that the Nett proceeds of the
wools shall be paid in due course, as you direct
to your Bankers Messrs. Herries & Co.
