it not be wise to make a timely trial of a Sale of the
Land by Auction in England? In some such mode as
the following – To describe the Land and the Locality – and
to estimate its probable value in 15 or 20 years – To parcel
it out into convenient Allotments – and so determine the
Amount of Rent per 100 Acres that the Vendor will give
for each Allotment until the Purchaser is prepared to
enter into Possession. Such an arrangement might induce
Persons in England to become Purchasers by this investing
Money for the Benefit of their Children. If the Land when
offered to the Public in England do not sell at the requisite
Price no alternative will remain, but to sell the Land in
the Colony – (without it can be mortgaged) be it for little –
be it for much. If for little, then the Burthen of the Difference
will fall upon yourselves. And this is the contingency
somewhat remote tho' it be, against which I would guard
and save the Family from irretrievable Ruin.

The obligations under which you have come on Mr. B's
account do not in any manner concern me or my estate.
I am therefore of opinion that it is desirable that without
loss of time my Property of whatever nature in New So. Wales
should be dealt with as a destined Property, and be deter-
-mined by the Data which my Father's will affords.
