extract I sent you last month
from Ward's letter to me of 20th April
- What Ward wrote was as follows
"I assume from all this" (i.e. Matters
connected with the visit) "that I shall
be in England before Febry 1862
& be able to give some assistance
towards Exhibition arrangements.
I mentioned to Cowper the idea of
my being Commissioner for N.S.W.
at the same time saying I was not a
competing candidate for it. If your
brother goes home he ought to be the
man as he was that before. In fact
I fancy Hamilton wishes for it. There
is only one Representative to be allowed
