hope the Political affairs of the Colony are
about to assuming a new or rather the old character - one
more calculated than of late has been the case to improve
confidence & respect towards the Government.

This swamping of the Legis: Council was
in my opinion a monstrous act of petty
tyranny & at the same time a gross
blunder notwithstanding that it has as you observe
ended well – which only shows there is
a Providence that shapes our
ends [indecipherable].
