Happiness and peace for anyone beyond the grave
this must now be his position. It must also be a
happiness to you to take his place in the discharge
of all those duties which he filled as a husband and
Father – and which I am sure will be not less
faithfully performed by you, as a brother and uncle.
I will say nothing more at present, but simply
beg to convey to Mrs James MacArthur and Elizabeth,
the expression of my most earnest sympathy with
them in their bereavement. That it may please
God to give you health and strength for the increased
call that will be made upon these faculties for some time
to come, is believe me my Dear Macarthur
the heartfelt prayer of your very
affectionate friend C. Nicholson
Sir Jas Macarthur
