glad James Bowman is at the House
[?] which will we hope be better for him
in all respects. The wind howls & the rain
beats reminding us of your description of
the weather at Camden. The harvest
has been mostly all got in & promises
to be much better than any we [?]
to hope for, when we left London at
the end of Septr. We met the [?]
at Edinburgh for a few minutes. I do
not know where the G. MacLeays are –
somewhere in the sunny south probably for Winter
quarters. For the present Adieu
as we are going to don our cloaks
&c & sally forth despite the weather
for a bit of exercise – & fresh air
