There will be 18s/6d Freight to pay. I would
have paid it here, had they referred the matter
to me. The Vine Pruning Implements are
promised by the end of the month, &
may be shipped by one of the Vessels
sailing in January, I hope, so that
they ought to be with you in good
time for the Pruning season. I shall
be on the look out for the "Rifleman"
with the Wine in a [original crossed out] week or two, & I trust
it will arrive soon enough to be in good order, by the time
the mild weather sets in. I was here interrupted
by Vigors & W. Leslie – the former now a Captain
in the 19th. & on his way to Dublin – the latter just
equipping for joining his Regiment (I forgot
the no.) & staying with his Father & Mother
at Norwood – where Hannibal is also at
present. Frederic Bigge was with us from
½ past 11 to 3 o'Clock so that the day-
light, I had proposed to devote to
day to my letters, has been lost for
