My dear Sir William

I hope the Platyceriums answered your requirements,
but have some slight doubt in the matter – The locality where I have
been in the habit of procuring them is nearly exhausted; but by
going further afield I shall have no difficulty in procuring good
specimens. Pray then say freely if you want better specimens or
more of them, and I will set to work at once so as to send a
further supply to go home with what you have –

Enclosed you will find a list of Orchids which we should
be glad to add to our collection. I have included as few as possible
of those which you have marked with a single X; but of course
wish it to be distinctly understood that I have not the persistent
expectation of receiving more than a very moderate selection
from among those enumerated in my list.

We on our side have a few to send you; but ordinarily
