The Hon: Sir Wm Macarthur, M.L.C
Camden Park – Menangle – N. S. W.

My dear Sir William

I have to acknowledge with my best thanks, the
receipt of your letter of date the 9th Instant and of the
case referred to – The plants were in excellent order and
were in high degree acceptable – With the three species which
were in flower I was greatly delighted – [indecipherable] Forbesii
is a very fine thing. By this Steamer I return your case
with the following contents, vz. – A pair of "Phalænopsis
grandiflora", and another of "Disa grandiflora". It would
not do of course to disturb them, but they take up a good deal
of room – A Cœlogyne and another ordered from the
Neilgheeries [Nilgiris] – an orchid, apparently a Cœlogyne from Saharanpur;
one from the Neilgheeries which was named as Saccolabrium
rubrum; but there is evidently a mistake – Also a lump
of Saccolabrium giganteum; [original text crossed out- and] a few pieces of other things
lately from Burmah; and a number of ferns (unnamed)
from New Caledonia & Figi [Fiji]
