Wednesday
My dear Emmeline
We arrived here last evening
after a successful journey,
but a very rough crossing – we
were all sufferers – I was very
tired, & unwell all the journey,
but so glad now to be at rest, &
I find all ready here, & my
little Swiss maid beaming
with pleasure at seeing us.
Ch had a bad head ache on the
way, but seems all right now –
and both very glad to be here
and affectionately welcomed
by so many high & low.
