No one thought of anything but the war. Very exhausted.
Fred came at 8 & I drove till nine then we went on lake front xxxxxxxx.
Windy. I hate wind Home at 12.
Wrote to Tribune & Herald about Editha & Emma.
Thursday 6
Got down at 10 & went to see Miss Steghagen. Miss Boynton Paul Greenwald Ethel, Miss H & Flora Coffin & I had lunch at Field's. Miss Coffin & Greenwald to consider dancing. Went to Dr Miller to look at teeth. Depressed about the war & very exhausted. Dinner at Hearth alone & walked home.
Friday 7
Miss H. & I did outline of article on war for "L & L". Very cast down about the staggering calamity. Lunch at Hearth with Miss H. Dinner there alone & walked home. Warm day.
