Got to dock at 8. Got on to train and away at 11.45. Went to 23 Upper Woburn Place. Nell Malone met me there and took me to Usshers.

Mon. 8
Went to the banks & had no success. Went to Mrs Ussher at W's
E. Corps & then had lunch & went room hunting in Chelsea. Very disheartening. Home to cold hole had dinner & wrote letters.

Tues. 9
Went round to Nell on Beaumont St. & came back & had lunch. Then went to American Express Co. It was poring [pouring] so did not see Lord Mayor's show.

Wed. 10
Lovely day clear & mild. Aileen called for me at 11.30 and then we went to W's Freedom League and had lunch there then went to Aust. Offices & to recruiting meeting at Trafalgar Sq. [continued on next page]
