Fine day with a nipping wind. Went to town early to A Horderns to look at garden forks & mats but did not buy. Thence to Mitchell: ate a bis. and banana on steps; & read till 3 when I met E. T. Brown & J. McKellar & had tea & walk & talk in gardens, & I then went to News Reel and home after 8. Letter from Hall Craft accepting MSS but no contract. I met Sparkes at corner & said Joe had recommended him to me & he said it wd be a pleasure to fix my garden hose, tomorrow at 9.30 a.m
