26 Sun
Twilight day - Fog & drizzle. Ethel, Miss
McD & I went to Lady B's for supper to
meet Hobsons & had a pleasant
time. Ethel wore
new Liberty dress.

27 Mon
Little snow on streets. Said goodbye
to Miss McD. Office Routine: ran footling
errand to Queen Anne's Gate at 6 in
pouring rain got home too tired to do
anything but retire.

28 Tues
Little snow again on streets
Pleasant day tho not clear of course.
Worked like a slave till 10 p.m with
no dinner breaking an engagement
to do it. Home on last 31 bus. cold
& hungry hardly able to sleep at all.

29 Wed
My beloved Ethel came & had
tea with me on biscuits from Mother.
Fred P. came for me we went home
& had dinner & Ethel came later
& we three had a little spread of
Mother's parcels in honor of
Father's & Fred's birthdays.
30th ['30th' written under 'Father's' and circled]
