JANUARY 1921

Sun Wet warmish day. Got up late. Phyl went to hear Dr Orchard. In afternoon we went to Lady Byles.

Mon Nice clear morning. I got up late & after lunch went with Phyl as far as Camden Town & did some marketing. Home & did a few lines of "Geese & Ganders". Leather bag came from mother & bks. from Angus & Robertson.

Tues Not feeling well. Fell down a few stairs & horrible sense of irritation. Nelson came at night in time for dinner. I just sat all the afternoon & did nothing but read "The Riddle of the Sands" by Erskine Childers.

Wed Nelson again at night & with him Mr Medhurst but not for dinner. Suffering from shock.
