In afternoon Nancy and I went to tea at Maud's. There was a deluge & Anne Macky cd. not turn up. About 6 p.m. Nancy left me at Goldsteins where I spent the night. It was cold & grey.

Ran into town to see "Gossip" (R. McMillan) Darcy Gilligan & Souter. Thence to Sun to call on Constance Stephens. In evening Mother & I left for Melbourne at 7.50 - seen off by Aunties & Eva & a nurse O'Sullivan came for autograph.

22 Friday

Cold showery morning. In forenoon Mother & I went to cemetery to see Springthorpe Memorial & perished in wind & rain. In afternoon I had Misses Moore & Murphy to tea with Mother & Nancy at George & Georges & Miss Murphy is to read "Phoebe" & introduce it to Gertrude Elliot. At 2.30 I was interviewed at Lyceum by Miss Trait (Argus) & a young literal idiot without a sense of humour or proportion name of Taylor.

Very cold & showery. Nancy, Mother & I had lunch with Mr Overend at Wattle & then went to "Little Nelly Kelly" at Princess Theatre. Mr Hargreaves and Mr & Mrs Henry came in evening.
