Grey day with spots of rain. After lunch Mother & I went to hear Domain orators & thence the Art Gallery - enjoyed Australian collections. Thence to Bondi to Featherstones - May & young Macquean at home Lily K. & Marjory Bridle Mr Gibson & Willie called during my absence

Dolly Wilson & Mrs Pratt came for lunch Mrs Richards & Kenneth & her nephew Jack Hamilton came for tea & [word crossed out] we all went up and saw them off on train

Aunt Lena & I went up Lane Cove River to see Ella Beryl Marjory. Metta also there. Barton & Norman came home late. Mrs Arthur Senr. Alec Mrs Jones & 2 daughters & a Miss Manly also there. In morning we called on Mrs Black & did a few errands. Nice warm day but cold on water.

Left Sydney at 9.45 with Father. Hot day but night wind got up as we neared Goulburn & there was a big fire away on the left. Arrived Goulburn at 3.40 & changed for Komungla where I was met by car & taken in terrific wind to Currawang. Just north of Goulburn the wind was completely blowing away the earth from a man's maize patch. Travellers in carriage were of opinion that Goulburn was a dead town but for the Railway & Asylum. Saw a fire start near Tiranna [Tirranna] but wind so violent that it actually blew it out
