Grey day but warmer. Busy in office. "Old
Blastus" came back from Lady Forbes-Robertson.
She says it wants re-writing. I don't believe
she read it.
30 Fri
Terrible day in office. Proved Martin a sheer
Tartar in the Committee [?]. Would not
have been surprised if they had it in for me, but
poor old Miss H. - after 20 years of servility!
1 May Sat
Cold day. Feeling ill to think of Martin's perfidy.
Got through somehow. Strike pending. Will spoil
all my plans.
