Mrs. Jos Thompson made
a present of "Mission life in the
Islands of the Pacific" Bugscott-

Thursday 25th
Mrs. Bucklar sent for Sarah Bates
this morn'g sent a note to Mr. Hill and another to
the stewards of the "Ruahine" requesting them
to send for the contract washing. Mrs J. Graham
gave 5/ to get something for the laundry women.

Friday 26th
The stewards came, the counting and backing
took 4 hours busy work for 6 of us.
it is now quite ready to be carted away
in the morn'g.

Saturday 27th
3 Days full of linen sent home. Matron went
to get the signatures of Prosser & Howard, but they
were not to be found - went again at 2 oclk
but was equally unsucessfull [unsuccessful] so had to leave the bill at the company's office with only the stewards's
signature. They promised at the office to get the
Purser and first steward to sign it, but it is of so
much importance, that we must go and see to it.
Emily Rivers called with a note from Mrs. King
requesting her readmission (she has just been liberated from prisonvtold her she must get a note from Mrs. Goodlet first. she said no if you wont take me in I will do the best I can with the blessing of
