November 8th
Emma Fern has been very naughty
Thursday, in school, and struck Annie Dudge in
the face, made her nose bleed.

Friday 9th
Matron went 1/2 past 8 oclk to "La Hague"
taking with her what Mrs. Goddard wanted [underlined] first [end underlined] and
brought the "Ships" washing home in a cab because
we were anxious to keep the inmates busy
lest they should want to go out, it being a holiday-
holidays are the most anxious days to us.

Saturday 10th
Went to Grafton Wharf to try to get
paid for the "Kaikoura's" washing,
but could not. they promised "Matura's" [sup] on Monday [end sup] washing
then to "McNamaras" Wharf to the "John Williams", but Mrs. Williams was not in.

Mr. D Walker addressed the inmates from the 3rd Chap. Rev 20 vs "Behold I stand at the door and knock" & more than half the girls wept, as he showed the danger of rejecting the offers of mercy.

Sabbath 11th
No Minister neither morn'g, or afternoon
during the thunderstorn all the inmates
united in singing [sup] "Day of Judgement, day of wonder, Hark the awfull [awful] trumpets sound" Louder than we thought of Thunder [End sup] then we read the 3 first chapters St. James (every other verse) a few seemed impressed and thoughtful and
all were quiet and attentive.
Mr. Pratt Chemist gave an address in the eve'g.
