November 27th.
Monday. As Dr. Roberts did not call, wrote to
Dr. Nathan.
Mr. Bass & Mr. Danne came 7 oclk eve'g to
examine the books-
Miss Danne frm. Rg'd [Ragged] School interested the girls by reading
whilst they were all engaged sewing ['&' crossed out] or knitting.

Teusday, 28th.
The Roman Catholic inmates give us so much
trouble in the mornings. by their reluctance to rise
in time to attend morn'g prayers, tried today, what
bringing two of the absentees before the ladies might do.

Wednesday, 29th.
Last night Mrs. Creagh (Mother of
Mary McSweny) came to fetch her, after
she had dressed in the clothes her Mother brought
for her - we sang a hymn
"Here we suffer greif [grief] and pain
Here we meet to part again" &c
and gave her a special charge to keep her temperance
pledge, keep away from bad company. & then parted.

Thursday, 3
Isabella Campbell called 9 oclk eve'g to ask "to come in"
she was told the com't ladies would not consent to her return
"then what am I to do"? work for your living. she "would go and ask
Mr. Caldwell[heavily underlined] for an order". told her to do so.

Friday, 30th.
Dr. Roberts came and has ordered Eliz'th Lovett to
the Infirmary. he says she is in a sad plight.
