Monday 7th
Ann Fletcher has been cross and ill tempered
and wastefull with the soap in laundry & when I
told her how unjust and wicked it is to waste, that
she was a naughty girl. I would write home to
her Mother and ask her to take her away, she said
"well, I don't care, I [underlined] want [end underlined] to go home" &c- however, later on in the eve'g, she came to me
(looking very serious) and said she was sorry for
having been so rude to me. If you are sorry and
promise not to do so again, I willingly forgive you,
and remember "Wilful waste makes woeful want."
