Feb'y 9th.
Saturday. Lady Young made a long [underlined] visit
today. and talked with Eliz'th McGill, M A Ward &
the "two Emmas" Eliza Bruce and Christina each
by themselves. giving them good advice.
and gave ^[sup] me [end sup] permission to employ a gardener two days.

Sabbath 10th.
Rev'd W. Mills preached in the morn'g
Mr. Danne afternoon, and a
Bible Class with Matron at 7 oclk.

Monday 11th.
I am quite at a loss to know what
to do. with the girls that ought to be at
school. when they are sent, they wont
stay. Eliza Lane and Charlotte Perry when
made to go use bad language there to annoy.

Teusday 12th.
Ester & Eliza Bruce were called before
the ladies, one for insubordination the
other for idleness
Eliz'th McGill was also.
a young girl, respectably dressed brought a
note from Rev'd Morton. she was taken to the
com't & the ladies agreed to receive her.
she then asked to go and see her Mother.
"would only be away a quarter of an hour". She did not[underlined] return.
