Chief Secritary [secretary] and said "I'll be at 5 pounds towards it if the Government will give 10 pounds -
Shewed [showed] them the ding. room, that it was too small & the only room for divine worship.

Mr Parke was astonished to see such young [underscored] children & the Governor asked "what we could do with them. when thier [their] time was up seeing that they were too young for service" - I said we did not know, but if there had been a reformatory, were [where?] they could remain a few years to learn some branch of industry, it might be the making of them -

15th Mary Brown takes great interest in Eliza Beace and tries to encourage her to do her duty. but she is still very boisterous and rude and noisy and well deserves to be punished.

16th Elizth. McGill had a white pocket hkf [handkerchief] in her possesion [possession], which we [inserted] believe belongs to one of our customers. as it matches others the place were [where] the mark should be in is cut out [underscored]. and what is worse than all, she "dont care" -
