Feby, 27th
Wednesday. I went to the wharf in search of the Purser of the "Ruahine" and the Cheif [chief] officer - to get thier [their] signatures to the bill but had to return without - after waiting all afternoon. and getting wel [wet] through.

Thursday.
28th. Posted a letter to the purser requesting his signature to the bill -
the stewardess brought 72 Dozen peices [pieces] ( 2.12 pounds) to wash - and they sail tomw. [tomorrow] !!

Friday 12 oclk the linen is washed and taken away - only 28 Blankets remain - as the rain prevented one getting them dry - Mrs. J. Thompson has sent a large box of beautiful peaches for the inmates.
Revd. Vidall called about Mary Hassold ( a girl be sent here) he advised her to be a good girl and be thankfull [thankful] for such a comfortable home.
The Ladies General Comt. consented to the Matron having a months leave of absence to [?] her health.
