May 2nd.
Thursday. The "Kaikawra[Kaikoura]'s" washing came
this eve'g.
Mr. Danne adressed the inmates
three of whom wept very much as he ^[sup] discribed [described] [end sup] the Sinners
lost state and the Saviours offer of mercy.

Ann Gall has broken the large wheel of the Mangle
thereby causing great trouble - as well as expence [expense].
Went to Mr. Chapman (the Machinist) to get
it repaired. as it is required daily.

Friday 3rd. The Ladies General Com't
Number of inmates 36
Dr. Nathan ordered M. Nolan to the
Infirmary. with sore eyes &c - brought on
through her bad life outside -

Saturday 4th.
Wrote a letter to Deborah Hardcastle
enquiring after her welfare, as it
is a long time since she wrote to us.

Sent the messenger to enquire if MN could
be received, he is "to call again next week"
there being "no beds" at present vacant.

Sabbath 5th.
Rev'd W. Mills preached in the morn'g
Rev'd W. Robson in the afternoon.
Bible class with Matron in the evening.
all the inmates present, and in health.
