Took Georganna Hurt to Mr. Bennets.

Thursday 17th
Little Marie Colman is such a wild
unruly child, seems pity she should be with
such characters, as our inmates when of such a
tender age.

Friday 18th
The first Sabbath that M. A. Colman was here, I heard
her say to Emma "where can I get a needle and cotton?"
O, Mary Ann!, a needle and cotton of a Sunday! you
wont get em, in [underlined] this [end underlined] place. I can tell you.

Saturday 20th

Sabbath 21st
Dr. Charles preached 11 o clk, Mr. Button
3 oclk and John Watt eve'g there are
39 inmates, all in tolerably good health.

Monday 22nd
Charlotte Perry and Kate Barry have had to
be reprimanded for swearing. my heart is sad
and sore grieved at this, for there is no hope of
their reformation whilst they thus persist in
using bad language, against which they are so
repeatedly warned.
Sarah Jane Green is so idle, and disobedient
Mrs. Talbot found her locked up in the Cottage
for refusing to scrub [underlined] half [end underlined] her own, of her own [crossed out]
bedroom although she had only scrubd it
twice, during the five weeks she has been
here.
