July 23rd Teusday [tuesday] wrote a note by order of the sub. commt. asking Dr. Nathan to visit M.A. dwyer. The sub. commt ladies spoke to Charlotte &c Kate they both promised not to swear again.

Wednesday
24th Dr. Nathan came this morng. and M. A. Dwyer refused to let him examine her. she was dismissed. The Dr. saw Kate Barry.
The steamers washing taken away this afternoon. and a few more left (about 1000 pieces) to be ready by friday.
Thursday
25th Mrs G. Allen sent us a present of a large basketful of Loquats besides flower [flour] and sugar to make the inmates a pie.
Friday
26th Mrs. J. Thompson sent a large box of Oranges Am glad to see that the ladies kindness is valued and appreciated by most of our inmates.

Saturday
27th Ester Beace had to be sent to the cottage for swearing when speaking to her of the great wickedness of such a practice, she said she she "was no worse than others that they all swore".

Sabbath.
28th Revd W. Mills preached 11 oclk Revd Hr. Gaud 3 oclk and Mr. L 7 oclk. all the inmates attended. Its a wet cold evg.
