Went to Cohens Hotel to apply for the washing advertised
Mrs C said it was too late, she having already made arrangments. [arrangements]

We are greatly tried by Sarah Bates's surly
temper and unthankfullness. she is guilty of
using bad language also.
Saturday
17th
The house & garden has [have] been having
extra work and looks very nice.
Sabbath
18th
Dr. Charles preached 11 oclk
Revd. H. Gaud 3 oclk. and J. Thompson
7 oclk. 40 inmates. all present.
clean and orderly.
Monday
19th
Little M.A. Colman is very promising, sharp
inteligent [intelligent] , and obedient. I often wonder that
her mother could [underscored] have treated her so ill.
