Monday 4th
Wrote a note to Mrs. Fullerton stating
that we would take her washing this week
but owing to orders already on hand, we could
not take any more untill [until] 1st Dec? after that
date we should be thankful for any work she
might please to send.

Tuesday 5th
Kate McMahon asked the Sub Com't to let her
leave the Refuge. They of course refused when
she rudely said she would bolt then, and in the eveg whilst we were assembling to Mr Armstrong's

we had better try a little longer, they never had so
so few gentlemen stay'g there as now, their coming to town
being postponed untill [until] the Prince comes, assuring me that
the large number of pocket hkfs [handkerchiefs] , collars &c would make it pay well
but she persisted in say'g we contacted for [underlined] Families [end underlined] washing.
