Friday 27th Dec'r
The Inmates commensed [commenced] work in good earnest

Saturday 28th
Wrote to Dr Nathan and requested him to call at his
earliest convenience Maggie McCormack is
very ill a young came and wished to be admitted
named Catherine Hales saying she wished to lead
a new life

Sunday 29th
Mr Mills preached at 11 oclock Maria Smith
came and begged to be admitted saying she was quite
sick of sin Mr Pavis preached at 7 at night

Monday 30th
Dr Nathan came to day and prescribed for
five of the inmates

Friday 31st
The inmates rather unruly at night

Wednesday January 1st 1868
This being News day was observed as a holiday
the inmates seemed thoroughly to enjoy it

Thursday 2d
Miss Galbraith has taken Mary Leslie and
Jane Prew to Mrs Pawseys this morning & Mrs
Capps Mary Leslie was engaged as house maid
by Mr Robinson of Hunters Hill she went
by the 3 o clock steamer highly delighted
with her prospect

Friday 3d
The ladies general committee met to day and
gave permission for Boots to be ordered from
Randwick

Saturday 4th
I went to the Panama Office and got the months
washing account they were very pleasant
