Sunday 5th

The inmates were orderly today no service in the morning. Mr Roberts gave a short address in the Afternoon. Mr Thompson held service in the evening a young woman named Charlotte French came and begged to be taken in saying she was tired of her wicked course of life. I took her in until the Ladies committee meets on Tuesday.

Monday 6th
The inmates very unruly indeed, Mary Ann [March] positively refused to obey me Jane Brownley very independent

Tuesday 7th
Miss Galbraith took Anne Gaul to Mrs Cappers to get a situation she engaged to go up the Clarence River. Harriet Pinkett left her situation yesterday and called here this morning. The ladies gave permission for her to stay until tomorrow.

Wednesday 8th
The inmates going about their work quietly

Friday 10th
I went with Harriet Pinkett to the station at 6 o clock to go to the service of Mr Markland of Hartley as Cook and Landress at 12s a week she was very thankful to the Ladies for allowing her to stay since Tuesday.

Saturday 11th
The inmates going about their work steadily this morning
