July 10th

and got the agreement signed by her new Mistress.
(Mrs. [Indecipherable]) and Mrs Moriset. They expressed themselves
much pleased with Mary Ann's outfit and general appearance

Saturday 11th
I went in company with the messenger at 1/2 past 6 oclk
to the eastern market and bought 4/10 worth of
vegetables. after breakfast conducted morning
worship, and then went to the Panama S. S. office and
received payment for last months washing, and left the
cheque £34.16.1 with J.S. Harrison Esq'r "Treasurer" (on my way
home.) Rev'd W. Mills has sent me a note stating
that he cannot come here tomorrow, and asks me to
try and get someone to take his place. Received a
note from Mrs. J. Smith to receive Kate Smith, the poor thing says she has no home! and had to sleep out of doors in the cold.

Sabbath 12th
Mr Gully and Mr. Rosby each gave
an address. No Minister in the eve'g.
The Matron spent a very pleasant eve'g, and we
hope a profitable one with the inmates, in
reading the Bible, singing, Prayer, and recitations.
The inmates were all attentive and orderly, and one
of them said "what a nice way of spending a Sunday
night."
