Eliza Brase has been very trying to day
trying to influence some of the Girls to
make their escape. So had to watch them

8th. E. Brace came to me early this morning
to demand her Clothes. that she may go out. finding that I could do her no good
gave permission lest She Should Corrupt
the others. The Revd Mr Burns called to
Say that he would like to address the
Inmates. I promised to mention his wish
to the Gentlemens Committee. Sub Com tee
4 Ladies present.

9th. Went to the Shipping office for the washing
a/c. Messrs Armstrong and Mills. held
a Temperance Meeting in the Evening
Mr A. Sent a Man to put up the Flag
Mrs W Mills visited

10th Nothing of interest

11th. Mrs W. Crane came to make general
enquiries. I wrote to the Committee of [indecipherable]
Hospital about Mary Ann Moore

12th. Mrs Thomas Hill. Sent a Box of Fruit Some
Flour Suet [inecipherable] Sugar to make Puddings
for the Inmates. Mr Hassock gave his
address in the Evening
