March. burnt off. the fire was obliged to be
put out and a workman from Russell's
sent for, who repaired it during the day
the fire was lighted at tea time. Lines
fixed and filled with starched things
to dry in readiness for ironing on
Monday morning.
6th. Mr. Mills conducted morning Service
Theresa a former inmate called
to see Harriet Child, she was told that
it was against the rules to visit the
inmates, she begged that the Ladies
of the Committee may be told that
she was most comfortable in her
situation. Mrs. Gregory visited the
inmates, reading, talking, and
playing with them. No evening
Service. Ann Kirby made her escape
over the Cottage between tea time and
evening prayer.
7th.
Mrs. W. Mills and Mrs. Perry called respecting
Theresa who had never returned to
her place since Sunday afternoon
the day she called here.
8th.
Mr. J. Mills held an evening Service
and read to the Inmates.
Harriet Panketh re-admitted
9th.
Ellen Jones asked for admission
suffering much from drinking, the
Ironers worked until midnight
to finish the clothes left during the
