April 16th. Mrs. Cobham of the North Shore called
from Mrs. Wise to engage Jane Rohan
as general Servant, She will send for
her on Tuesday next and engages to give
her five shillings a week and make her comfortable

The washing does not look
so well done this week, we miss Louisa
Kerrigan & Annie Mulholland in the Ironing
Room, the Laundress thinks it could not
be better done by the women employed
at it. Catherine Bolt taken in three
days ago insisted upon being let go out
I wrote to Mrs. Goodlet upon the subject
and received orders to dismiss her immediately
The Laundress went out this evening.

Sabbath
17th. Mr. Mills conducted Morning Service
Mr. Boseley the Afternoon
I went out to morning Service the
Teacher and Laundress went out
in the afternoon. Fanny Chapmans
Father sent to say her Mother is dead
and asks for Fanny to remain with
him until Wednesday morning.

18th. Easter Monday a Holiday. Miss Holland
and the Laundress went out for the day,
The Inmates enjoyed themselves with
Balls and Skipping Ropes. I spent some
of their treat money to get them fruit
cake and lollies for tea. A part of
the ceiling in the Matrons sitting room
fell this morning.
