May 9th. I took Martha Buckle to the
Infirmary this morning, and called
upon the Treasurer Mr. Harrison but did
not find him at his Office. The Laundress
has complained to me of having lost
a Scarlet braided Jacket she has allowed
so many of the Inmates to go to her bed -
room that I fear we shall have a difficulty
in tracing it.

10th. Ladies Sub Committee only two Ladies
present Fanny Richards. Maria Leach &
Emma Moore were admitted
the Laundress
has complained to me this morning
about the dreadfully indecent language
used by Charlotte Stanley. She says her
swearing is bad enough, but the
language she complains of her using
is most shocking.

11th. Mrs. Joseph Thompson visited
Mr. Robins held an evening Service
he tells me has known Maria Leach
for a long time and knew her parents
well, he thinks that Maria may get
on very nicely with us, with a little
kindness shown her. The ceiling has
been mended to-day in the Matron's
Sitting room.

12th. A very wet day, nothing of any
consequence has occurred.
