dreadful temper she had been
offended because her sister was not
permitted to go up the garden with
her and so was determined to leave
us. Mrs. Larking called to engage a
servant and promises to let me know
her decision to morrow morning.

18th
Miss Holland went out this evening
Mrs Larking called to engage Mrs. Hughes
at 7d/ a week as general servant
I went to Mrs Goodlet to ask her consent
as Mrs L wished to take her to Bondi
with her this evening, purchased
Hat and boots for Mrs Hughes and
took her to meet Mrs Locking at four
o clock to go by the omnibus with her.
Called upon Mrs Poppenhagen by request
respecting her washing and went to
the Hyde Park Asylum to make
enquiries for Martha Buckle's admittance.
Mr Bode held evening Service.

19th
I took Martha Buckle this morning
to the Hyde Park Asylum but could not
get her admitted being too young and
not maimed in any way. The Matron
promises to recommend Martha to some
connection of her own as a servant
Mrs Hill visited.

20th
Miss Dunn called about some
needle work she has sent to be done
