Miss Holland returned this morning.
Ladies Sub Committee. Catherine Smith
alias Gutheridge admitted. Mr Hedges
the Messenger has left us to day.

30th
I have learnt that the bad language
spoken of by Mary Ann Mitchell to
some of the Ladies visiting this place
was made use of by Louisa Pilkington
both the Laundress and myself have
repeatedly rebuked her for the language
she uses. I have also learnt that Johanna
the woman who at the present time
cleans the outside of the Gate, has
received tobacco from a man passing
by. I have consulted with Miss Holland
and propose removing Johanna from
that duty. Miss Holland thinks it quite
impossible that Johanna could find the
opportunity for speaking to any one.
Messrs. Armstrong and Mills held an
evening service.

31st
The weather boards at the back of the
Police Stables are again loose.
Mr Gully held morning service
Miss Holland went out this evening
I was out during the afternoon from
two o'clock until four

Sept 1st
I have engaged a new Messenger
upon the same terms as the last
