Saturday 2 May 1835

Present the Police Magistrate

Patrick Ryley - 493 - Life - Asia (3)

Holding a Ticket of Leave in the Employ of Mr. William Glover of Bagdad.

Charged upon the oath of Elizabeth Harlow his fellow Servant with having assaulted her and attempted to take improper liberties with her on Thursday 30 April Ulto.

Admonished & Discharged.

John Clarke Countess of Harcourt

Assigned Servant to Mr. Lackey of Bagdad. Charged upon the Oath of his Overseer Thomas Bennett with having grossly insulted him and his Wife on Thursday Evening last - also with being drunk.

Sworn States - I am Overseer to Mr. Lackey. On thursday Evening last about half past seven oClock the Prisener came home from Mr. Lackeys Sale - he was drunk - he asked in a very impudent manner for his Tea. I told him if he asked me in a proper manner he would get it - when he called me a no man buggar and other approbius names - said he would settle me before he left - he then called out in the hearing of my Wife where is you bloody whore of a Wife and called her othere approbius names. I then ordered him out of the house and he presently went - he is a very insolent man when he is spoken to and I do not wish to have him returned to my Masters Service. My Master has

told me that if he misbehaved and was taken before a Magistrate not to have him returned.

Three Months Imprisonment & hard labor. Recommended to be sent to Grass Tree Hill Road Party & not to be returned to his Service.

Thursday 7 May 1835 Present the Police Magistrate & A. Mundy Esqre.

Alexander Lee - 855 - 7 yrs - Currency Lass.

Charged upon oath of Constable Ellis with having confessed to him having absconded from the Road Party at Constitution Hill on the 18 Ult. & remaining illegally at large until apprehended on the 26 near Perth.

Constable Ellis Sworn States - the prisener has confessed to me that he is guilty of the charge now profered against him & that it is true.

His original Sentence of Transportation extended Twelve Months & to be returned to his party.

[In margin] Offence in P.C.

Charles Munroe - 1117 - 7 yrs 18 mths - Atlas.

Charged upon oath of Constable Ellis with having confessed to him having absconded from the Road Party at Constn. Hill on 19th ulto. and remaining illegally at large untill apprehended at Bagdad on the 6 Inst. by John Kent.

[In margin] Offence entd. in P.C.

Constable Ellis Sworn States the prisener has confessed to me that he is guilty of the charge now profered against him & that it is true.

His original Sentence of Transportation extended Three Years & to be returned to his party.
